Check This Out - Leap Year Online Crop!

Scrap City is hosting a Virtual Crop (VC) this weekend that is sure to be a good time and guess what, Picture It Made was offered the awesome honor of sponsoring the GRAND PRIZE for the crop!! The lucky winner will receive the new Mango Paradise Scrapbook Kit from Picture It Made.

The Leap Year Crop will start Friday and run through Sunday. Scrap City has lot of cool fun things planned with lots of prizes being offered - what a way to get some scrapping done. I have never done an online crop but I am going to give it a try to see what it is like. If I actually get something accomplished, I will be sure to share it with you. For more details, visit Scrap City or the The Scrap City Blog. To participate in Scrap City events, you do have to register, but it is free, fast and easy, and they are a super great group to be a part of! Even if you don't participate in the crop, check out the gallery for project ideas.

The supply list for the VC looks do-able, not too intimidating...

  • CD's, DVD's...check the house...or you can pick up the free AOL or other internet ones free at stores...
  • A few playing cards...hearts & spades
  • A small album or chipboard book

Hmmmn...I think I have most of these things laying around my house so I don't really have a good reason not to participate!!

Have a great day!

Sketches - A Great Tool!

How many of us see card and scrapbook designs that we absolutely love and wonder how they came up with those great ideas? Although there are many designs out there that are original, there are just as many that have been adapted from someone else's great idea. If you feel creatively challenged or are just looking to expand your creative horizons, try following a sketch. Sketches help us out with the hardest part of any project, coming up with a plan! With sketches, the basic design, or blueprint if you will, is already planned out for you. I am amazed at all of the websites and blogs offering sketches for us to use. How nice is that?!? Two of my favorites are Page Maps and Card Positioning Systems. Not only do these sites provide the sketch layout, they also provide a well-rounded offering of completed samples - some following the sketch exactly while others have a creative spin added to them. What I love most about sketches is the visual cue that they offer, and sometimes that is all we need to get us on our way. Check out these sites for a little scrapbooking and card making inspiration mojo! (More great sketch sites listed at the left!)

Crop-A-Dile II Big Bite

The Crop-A-Dile II Big Bite by We R Memory Keepers is being touted as one of the industry's hottest new tools. If you already own the original Crop-A-Dile, then you know what a great tool this is. However, they have gone and improved this fabulous scrapbooking tool and now it does even more...and better!! This tool can punch AND set and snap both eyelets and grommets--of all sizes big and small. No more hammering - this thing is silent and easy to use. It can punch through paper, leather, fabric, plastic, thin tin, chipboard, and grungeboard with ease! And, the best part about the new Crop-A-Dile II Big Bite is the amazing 6" reach, so you can now set embellishments at the center of a 12x12 layout no problem. The adjustable measuring guide allows for accurate measurements and consistent patterns. No more guessing or "eyeballing" it. Yeah!! That alone makes this tool worth it. See how pretty it is... (Stay tuned for details on how you can enter for a chance to win this HOT new product from Picture It Made!)
